Frequently Asked Questions
How do I combine multiple .m2t files on my timeline?
For maximum compatibility with PCs and MACs the Datavideo HDR-40 and HDR-50 are FAT32 based. FAT32 uses a 2G (approx) file limit, so longer clips will be broken into several sequential files.
Because of the nature of Open GOP compression, the Open GOP structure of an .m2t stream requires information that is contained in these multiple files to have a truly continuous video/audio file.
As some NLE systems do not combine the m2t files when imported, this needs to be done prior to import, so Datavideo provide a utility (M2T_FileCombine.exe) to combine the m2t file
The Datavideo HDR-40 is a hard drive based video recorder, with removable hard drive enclosure, designed for studio desktop applications.
The HDR-40 records from both Standard and High Definition video equipment via SDI, with HDMI output, and convenient SDI loop through.
The recorder provides a choice of recording formats, including 1080i, 720p, 576i and 480i. In HD with a choice of IBP or Intra-frame (i frame), and in SD IBP.
The recorded .M2T files are compatible with a wide range of NLE and play out solutions on the market, and once the recording have completed, the hard drive carrier simply ejects and via USB-2 connects to a PC or MAC based NLE system, (no extra power supply required, as USB-2 provides power, perfect for lap-top use in the field).
Work directly from the removable drive, or copy video files across to the NLE's video drives. HDR-40 remote control interface includes RS-422, RS-232 and GPI for easy integration with other equipment.
