| Q: |
What is the video delay inside an SE-1000/ MS-1000 |
| A: |
If the Frame Synchronizer is switched ON (for using Non Genlocked camera’s) the
delay is about 1 frame.
If the Frame Synchronizer is switched OFF (for using Genlocked camera’s) the delay
is about 1 line.
Note : there also can be a delay on the SDI output of your camera.
Projectors can also have a considerable delay.
So, in the total set up, the delay can be more than only 1 frame. |
| Q: |
Does the SE-1000/ MS-1000 support audio? |
| A: |
No, the SE-1000 is a SDI vision (video) switcher. It can not switch any audio
signals.
For audio switching an external audio mixer is required. |
| Q: |
What happens with the audio if the source signal contains embedded audio in
the SDI-stream? |
| A: |
During the internal signal processing of the SE1000, the audio will be cut off from the
SDI signal and will be lost. |
| Q: |
What is the use of the DAC-40s inside of a SE-1000? |
| A: |
A DAC-40 is a one way (HD) SDI to (HD) analogue converter. The DAC-40 can take
ANY SDI signal (576i, 720P, 1080i) and convert it into ANY analogue format (576i,
cvbs, 576i YUV, or 720P HD-YUV or 1080i HD-YUV).
Example 1: Input HD-SDI 1080i (using an HD camera on the HD –SDI input). Output in 576i Cvbs to TLM433
Example 2: Input SD-SDI 567i (using standard definition SDI camera).
Output in HD-YUV 1080i to HD Component monitor (upscaling) |
| Q: |
What is the use of the 6 internal DAC-40 (HD) SDI to analogue converters
inside a the SE-1000? |
| A: |
Each DAC-40 takes a loop through signal from one of the (HD) SDI inputs and converts it into an analogue video signal for monitoring purpose. This avoids the
need of using expensive HD-SDI monitors and makes it possible to use affordable
analogue monitors like TLM-433. |
| Q: |
Can I use the built in DAC-40 converters only for monitoring? |
| A: |
No, it is also possible to use one DAC-40 to down convert one of the program HD-SDI outputs to an analogue output signal for recording onto an SD deck. |
| Q: |
How can I record onto the DN-300 in a MS-1000 system? |
| A: |
In the MS-1000 the analogue SD-YUV output of converter no. 6 is connected to the
YUV in of the DN-300.
(Note the DN-300 must be set to analogue in.) Monitor 6 can be used for playback/ monitoring for the recorded files of the DN-300. |
| Q: |
How do I record audio to the DN-300 in a MS-1000 system? |
| A: |
Connect the output of the external audio mixer to the XLR inputs of the
MS-1000 (RP-22 patch panel).
|
| Q: |
Can I make HD recordings onto DN-300 in a MS-1000 system? |
| A: |
No, the DN-300 can only take SD signals via the analogue YUV inputs. |
| Q: |
How do I transfer the files from the DN-300 in a MS-1000 to my NLE system? |
| A: |
Connect the DN-300 via a firewire cable to your NLE computer, enable the HDD
mode of DN-300 and simply drag and drop these files to your computer. |
| Q: |
I have bought the SE-1000/MS-1000 mixer but don't have the PC Image Transfer Software, can I download it? |
| A: |
Yes, click here to download the software.
